Kalifornia Katie
NHRA PRO STOCK MOTORCYCLE | #745
My name is
Katie Sullivan. I am 19 years old, and currently a freshman in
college at Chico
State. I am cur
rently majoring in small business and
entrepreneurship. My plan is to finish my business degree, then go to school to
learn to do auto-body work. My goal is to eventually own a custom paint and body
shop.
While going to school, I have made my debut in the world of professional drag racing. Last year, at the age of 18, I became the youngest female to ever qualify for a NHRA national event in pro stock motorcycle. I did this in Chicago, Illinois, a week after I graduated from high school. In addition to being the youngest female to ever qualify, I also became the youngest female to ever win a round. While we were in Chicago I earned my first round win against one of my biggest hero’s and idol, Karen Stoffer.
Last year, during my rookie year, I attended 7 out of 17 races. I qualified at 2 events, one in Chicago, and one in Sonoma. For the first four races, I rode the Gann Custom Suzuki for Blake and Shawn Gann. I attended Indianapolis riding for Greg Underdhaul and Gary Stoffer. Then, for the remaining two races my Dad, Charlie Sullivan, and I decided to venture out on our own. My Dad purchased a pro stock bike operation, and we attended the national events in Las Vegas and Pomona. My personal best E.T of the season was a 7.09, and my best MPH was 187. I had the most amazing season last year, especially making my dream of being the youngest female to qualify in pro stock motorcycle a reality! I am proud of what my team and I accomplished. With this in mind, I am looking into the very bright future of my race team in 2010!
My plan is to hit all 17 races this season. I am going to be driving my own truck and trailer to all the races. My Dad will be my crew chief. Our crew will also consist of Bob Newman and Mike Fields Jr., Gann custom will be helping furnish us with horsepower and we will be running our own Suzuki. I am very excited about this up and coming season. I believe that we can really do well, and I am very excited to be working side by side with my Dad running our own race program.
I am a very personable and determined person. Racing is my passion, and I know I can accomplish anything I set my mind too. If you are interested in being a part of Danger Sullivan Racing please contact me. This is my dream, and hopefully together we can make history!
If you have any questions or comments, email me. I'll get back to you as soon as I can!
